FAQs

Recruitment terms and conditions for disability benefit (AI) employees

What criteria do I have to meet to work at Polyval?

 - Aged between 18 and 65 years

 - In receipt of disability benefits (AI)

 - Demonstrate sufficient independence to be able to work in industrial subcontracting at a minimum level of 50% of normal working hours

 - Be able to adapt to a working environment (adherence to rules)

 - Stable health situation and not dependent on drugs or alcohol

What are the next steps if I am interested in working in a Polyval workshop?

In general, the applicant contacts Polyval and organises a visit with the integration department. At the end of the visit, they register using the application form and are contacted when a place becomes available.

What type of contract is it?

Contracts are permanent. There is a three-month probationary period.

The first month is used for observation and to determine the salary that will be written into the contract. The written contract is drawn up formally after the first month.

Is it possible to do an internship?

Our preference is for starting work, given that the probationary period provides an opportunity to decide whether the job is the right fit or not. The person concerned can stop at any time if they feel the environment or job is unsuitable

Can I change my mind if I don’t like the sector I chose?

There is always an option to apply to change workshops. Polyval will look at whether there is space available in the other workshops.

What is it like in the workshops?

The workshops are supervised by instructors and the integration department.

The supervisors organise the work and work-related situations on a day-to-day basis.

They are supported by the integration department.

What happens when someone reaches retirement age?

Employees generally stop working when they reach statutory retirement age. However, anyone who wishes to carry on can submit a request to management.

Any extension granted is always for a limited period and does no exempt the individual concerned from applying for their OASI (Old Age and Survivors) pension.

Employees in receipt of AI disability benefits must apply for their OASI pension no later than three months before their retirement age, using the form below:

==> Pension application

What can I do if I stop working at Polyval before I reach retirement age?

A number of associations provide activities for people of OASI age, including classes and group meals. These activities are not solely reserved for people with a disability but can offer some interesting opportunities, based on a set catalogue.

I have a financial or administrative problem that Polyval can’t resolve: where can I get help?

Proinfirmis in Lausanne
ProCap
Social services in the place where you live

There's a network to build but the employee has a hearing impairment and I am struggling to communicate. What can I do?

If you need an interpreter to communicate, Polyval can contact
Procom and request one using its online form: procom-deaf.ch/fr/Default.aspx

An interpreter travels to the workplace and Procom will send the invoice to Polyval:
Fédération Suisse des Sourds, Service Romand Itinérant en Surdité
Fédération Suisse des Sourds
Avenue de Provence 16
1007 Lausanne.

Youth workers travel to provide one-off help to young people aged 18 to 30 years.

I live in another canton: can I work at the Polyval Foundation?

One of the conditions for working at Polyval is living in the Canton of Vaud.

People living in other cantons can, however, submit an application.

An application to provide a guarantee to cover the costs of subsidies must be submitted to the canton where the applicant lives BEFORE they start work.
